Digitising daily vehicle inspections
We built TrackIT's mobile inspection app with offline capture, recorded checks and a workflow that sends defects to the workshop for action.

Digitising daily vehicle inspections meant working with or without a signal.
TrackIT needed the daily vehicle inspection off paper and onto the device, without losing the compliance record that makes the inspection worth doing.
We built the DVI mobile application: a guided daily check that runs on the device, an offline data engine so the yard's coverage is not a compliance risk, and a defect path that reaches the people who fix things on the same day.
What stood in the way.
An inspection that takes too long gets skipped
Compliance depends on the check being quick enough to do every single day, by everyone, before the shift starts.
Defects that sit in a pile
A defect written on paper waits for somebody to read the paper. The vehicle keeps running in the meantime.
No signal in the yard
Inspections happen where the vehicles are parked, which is rarely where coverage is best.
The solution, piece by piece.
A guided mobile inspection
The daily check runs on the device as a guided flow, which is what takes around 60% off the time it used to take.
An offline data engine
Inspections complete without a connection and synchronise when one returns. Nothing is lost and nothing waits.
Same-day defect to repair
A defect raised during the inspection reaches the people who fix it the same day, rather than at the end of a paper cycle.
Completion you can see
Close to 100% of scheduled inspections completed and recorded, which is the number compliance actually rests on.
A compliance record by default
The inspection produces its own evidence, because it was captured on the device at the time it happened.
What changed for the client.
~60%
Faster inspections
Time per inspection down by around 60%, which is what makes a daily check daily.
~100%
Completion rate
Close to every scheduled inspection completed and recorded.
Same-day
Defect to repair
Defects reach the workshop on the day they are found.
Works without coverage
The offline data engine means the yard's signal is not a compliance risk.
